Summary:

West Linton was originally opened as a nine hole moorland course in 1890. Then in 1926, that most famoust of golf architects James Braid, gave advice on expanding teh course to 18 holes. Unfortunately because of a restriction on available land Mr Braid's advice could not be put into practice until 1972.
West Linton offers fantastic views of the surrounding countryside and is generally recognised as one of the finest moorland courses in the Edinburgh area.
Visitors are always welcome. Contact club to make arrangements.

Played it today in their senior open. course was great and i have no doubt i will play better next time. Most of the holes you could see in front of you ...only 3 or 4 blind drives. Very unusual 2 par 3's to finish, #18 uphill 230yds bother left and right..potential card wrecker. All in all very enjoyable.
