Montecastillo Golf Club, Spain

Montecastillo Golf Club, designed by Jack Nicklaus and opened in 1993, is considered one of the best courses in Europe and is ranked 53rd best course in the world. Even Mr Nicklaus regards this course as one of his best designs.
Laid out in 160 hectares of sherry country the scenery is unspectacular but the design makes the most of the natural undulations and the result is a great course the early holes challenge with their length, water comes into play on many of the holes around the turn and then steep slopes and tee shots over great voids towards the end of the 18 make this a great test of your golf game. 
The course is well maintained with the fairways and (huge) greens always in great shape.
Montecastillo has hosted The Volvo Masters every year since 1997.
Visitors are always welcome.
