Oitavos Dunes Golf Club, Portugal

Oitavos Dunes is set on the coast at the most westerly tip of mainland Europe in the beautiful Sintra-Cascais National Park.
 
The setting for the Oitavos means that every turn offers either a heart filling view across sand dunes to the Atlantic Ocean or breathtaking views inland to the Sintra Mountains.
 
The clubhouse is a modern masterpiece of glass and steel architecture with every luxury and breathtaking views from the terrace.
 
The course was designed by the renown Arthur Hills and what a job he’s done. The layout is a continuous loop of holes, nine out nine in, similar to links land courses in Scotland. This sequence gives an undisturbed golf experience from start to finish.
 
There is not a single weak hole on this masterpiece with interest continually maintained by a mix of doglegs, long Par3s, winding Par 5s and elevated tees offering fantastic views.  The pick of the holes is probably the visually beautiful, but testing Par 3 14th. And the strong finish, with the 18th offering a particularly tough challenge

Superb modern clubhouse with bar, restaurant and pro shop. Excellent golf practice facilities. Club, trolley and buggy hire available.
