Summary:

Nizels Golf Club, which is a gym & golf club complex, is part of the Club Company Group (owners of 12 golf courses).
Built in 1992 on a 145 acres of the original Nizel's Estate (the original, listed, country house which overlooks the 9th & 18th greens is now luxury apartments).
The club's 18-hole Championship length, Par 72 golf course was developed sympathetically to use the natural contours of the countryside to enhance the visual appeal of the course. in addition to the natural undulations the course has several lakes which add further challenge and also provide a natural habitat for geese, swans and other wildlife.
A very pretty and challenging course, visitors are always welcome.

Facilities:

Clubhouse, with Spike Bar, Terrace and Restaurant, is part of a large modern building also housing a gym, fitness studios and swimming pool. Well stocked professional shop with equipment hire. Some golf practice facilities (nets & putting green)

Played Nizels using 2-fore-1 voucher so really cheap and the course was in great condition. This is a lovely course with wide fairways but plenty of water to contend with and some lovely views across the surrounding countryside. The only problem with the course is that, apparently, they have too many societies so you have to avoid fallowing one of them around or you'll have a 5 hour round. Apart from that, well recommended.

Played Nizels as part of a society last week. The round was very slow which I expected as part of a society but I think they have a society every day! Anyway I have to say that whilst the course was generally in great condition (and offered some great vies) the greens were not good at all - they had been deep tined and so were bumpy and sandy. I guess they'll be poor until, at least, mid September. So, all in all, whilst it's a lovely course, it's generally a slow round and I'd give it a miss until the greens recover.
