Matfen Hall is a privately owned country house hotel set in beautiful Northumberland countryside 15 miles from Newcastle.
Matfen Hall offers a golfers paradise with 27 holes of superb parkland golf course plus a golf academy and Par 3 practice course.
The original 18 hole layout was designed by Mark James (Ryder Cup captain in 1999). The 6,700 yard Par 72 layout took 3 years to design and build and is now considered one of the best parkland courses in the area.
The 'new' 9 holes, opened in 2007, was designed by Matfen's head professional Craig Parkinson and is named "Dewlaw" (after the farm which used to occupy the site).
In addition to the 27 holes of championship golf, Matfen also offers a driving range, golf academy and Par 3 practice course.

Nice set up a combination of three 9 holes which can be put together for three courses. A bit expensive but worth it as kept in very good condition. Would recomend a round.
