Summary:

Gullane Golf Club, founded in 1884 and laid out on the coastal region to the east of Edinburgh, offers three fantastic 18 hole links courses all offering views across the Firth of Forth to Edinburgh and Fife.
The three courses at Gullane do not have names but are simply numbered to reflect their age - Gullane No. 1, Gullane No. 2 and Gullane No 3.
Gullane No. 1 (6,466 yards) is of course the oldest having been established in 1884. It is a fantastic links course with a rich history and some beautiful views. The meandering fairways of links grass are scattered with deep pot-hole bunkers and bordered by deep rough and banks of heather. The greens are large and true but devilishly hard to read. It is this mixture of quality and difficulty which has combined to make Gullane 1 such a great course as reflected by the number of times it has played host to major competition including Open Championship Final Qualifying, Scottish Professional Championship, British Seniors Open and the Ladies Home International to name but a few.
Gullane No. 2 (6,385 yards) was established in 1898 and is almost as beautiful a course as it's more famous sister. The first seven holes of Gullane No. 2 runs alongside Gullane No. 1 and the course shares many of the same terrain and design attributes - meandering fairways, pot-hole bunkers, deep rough. This is a truely great course, always well maintained and a joy to play.
Gullane No. 3 (5,259 yards) was completed in 1910 and so is the newest course at Gullane. Whilst being the shortest of the Gullane courses it is no poor relation. it is maintained to the same high standard, offers the same challenge and the holes to teh south side of Gullane Hill offer excellent views across Aberlady Bay to Edinburgh and the Firth of Forth.
Visitors are always welcome but prior booking is strongly recommended.
