La Palmyre is a new 9 hole golf course set in 38 hectares of pine forest on the coast at La Palmyre.
Set on the Arvert Peninsula and close to the Club Med resort, La Palmyre offers a challenging golf course, which winds through the pine forest and offers some lovely views through the trees to the coast, alongside the holiday resort facilities you would expect from this part of France.

I've played the nine hole course at La Palmyre a few times now and although the course is new it's improving and worth a look. Hitting it straight is a premium as most fairways are lined with tall pines which can easily cost you a ball or two. The driving range is just the other side of the car park and is normally bathed in sun. The greens are still a little fluffy and players need to learn to repair pitch marks but the fairways are in very good condition. Price wise, it's possibly a little high but given that Royan is the next nearest course and is more than double the cost it's not too bad a way to spend a few hours.
