Chiltern Forest Golf Club nestles in the Chilterns on the edge of Wendover Woods.
The course is set in the Chiltern Hills with almost every hole cut through the forest. As such it is visually attractive but extremely tight and anything off the fairway is likely to end up amongst the numerous beech, yew and pine trees.
One of the feature holes is the 8th; a 147 yard uphill par 3 called 'The Badger' on account of the numerous badger sets dug into the steep bank. Be sure to take a couple of extra clubs as the locals will testify it plays more like 190 than 150 yards.
After a round the excellent clubhouse is the perfect place to relax. Recently refurbished and extended, it offers absolutely stunning views over Mentmore and the surrounding countryside as far as Dunstable...well worth a visit for the vista alone.
Visitors are always welcome.
