The heathland course at Charnwood Forest was designed by that famous man of Fife, golfer and architect, James Braid.
The 18 tees of this little gem of a 9-holer offer variety of yardage, shape, and elevation thus requiring the golfer to pay close attention during both circuits. Panoramic views of the stunning Leicestershire countryside are available at every turn and often play is only delayed through the pure joy of the scenery.
Being heathland the course is well-drained and remains open when many other courses in the county are forced to close.

The clubhouse sits neatly next to the final green with bar, dining room, and terrace available to relax and enjoy a drink, snack, or meal. Members and clubhouse staff always offer a warm welcome for newcomers, societies, and visitors alike.
Charnwood Forest Golf Club welcomes visiting golfers.

I played this cracking course this year, it was in fantactic condition. The greens were slick and true, the fairways were perfect for ball striking and the tees immaculate. Don't be put off by there only being 9 holes as the difference in tee positions goes a long way to making up for that. Also if you're not too good out of bunkers this place is ideal for you - there arne't any! One note of caution there isn't a Pro Shop, so don't forget your shoes. Finally the setting is very nice, in the midst of Charnwood Forest. Great day out, well woth a visit.
