Considered by many as one of Wales’ finest nine hole golf courses, Brecon, founded in 1902, was originally designed by James Braid.  This is an attractive parkland course with excellent drainage and a great reputation for being in good condition all year round, particularly the greens. Its flat terrain makes for an easy and enjoyable walk with the added benefit of breathtaking views of the surrounding Brecon Beacons.  Although, a nine hole course, every hole demands the greatest respect ffrom even the most accomplished golfer.  Many of the holes are shaped by superb mature trees and hedgerow, which when in full leaf provide an additional challenge. Eighteen holes of golf at Brecon measures 6,068 yards played from the white tee boxes with a par and standard scratch of 70, so it is certainly not your quintessential short nine-holes.  After a game you can enjoy the comforts and a warm welcome in the well-equipped clubhouse with a snack, a meal or just a drink.
