The Almanzora region of Spain is now regarded as the last jewel in the Spanish crown, with its fabulous climate all year round making it a perfect destination for golf anytime of the year. Desert Springs Golf Resort has a wealth of activities to enjoy away from golf including tennis courts, gymnasium, paddle tennis, and the Croc' area with its pool, play area and cafe.
The nearby fishing village of Villaricos is simply charming; old fashioned with warmth and spirit and lack of pretension. There is a fine sandy beach with pleasant beach bar and there are a further 6 restaurants in the village.

Set in the area where Clint Eastwood made A Fistful of Dollars and a host of other western films, Desert Springs is the first desert course in Europe and has been built to the full USGA specifications and standards that the Arizona and California desert courses are so famous for. Its designer Peter McEvoy says "We have kept the fairways generous and ensured that the less expert player can enjoy and improve his game whilst absorbing the awesome landscape and views that encompass The Indiana."
There is a stunning practice area, including putting green, chipping area and driving range to help improve your game, as well as lessons & coaching from the resident professional. The course is without doubt the best kept secret in Spain. The greens and fairways cannot be faulted. The up-keep of the course is second to none, and of course where else do you get cactus and volcanic rock beds for hazards ! The club house provides great after-play refreshments. All this and yet only 10 minutes from the magnificent beaches.
